Benefits Of Using Video Conferencing Systems

By Marlene Blevins

The technology today has allowed people in different locations to be able to communicate like they were in the same place. This has been made possible through video conferencing systems that allow people to use the internet to communicate on audiovisual screens while in different locations. These structures have evolved tremendously since they were invented a few years ago. There are four different types which can cost an organization different amount of money.

All the different types of conferencing systems are usually used by private businesses and also government agencies to hold conferences. One of them is the telepresence system that allows a person to be in a conference meeting with other participants from other locations. There are two types of telepresence structures namely the room based and the portable ones.

These devices are however quite expensive and can be afforded only by those businesses that are well-established. They are costly because they are manufactured using high definition flat screens using high quality codecs with a good voice system. They are normally made in different sizes and abilities so the businesses can have a range to choose from.

The second kind of advanced meeting systems are the integrated structures that are most likely bought by smaller sized offices and schools. In this kind of system, the hardware and codec are usually permanently fixed on one location. It comes with a lot of capabilities in terms of display and the cameras. This is cheaper than the previous system thus they are suitable for middle sized organizations.

The set top box video structures are also a type of conferencing techniques that can be adapted by different organizations. These set top boxes have an advantage because they can be moved from one room to another easily thus the participants of the meetings do not have to stay in a specific location every time. The system is also relatively cheap thus can be afforded by the small organizations that are trying to save.

The most affordable system however, is the desktop video communication system. This is normally used by people who are working at home. It can also be used to keep touch with family and friends who are in faraway places. In this type of system one has to purchase the video sending software but they can also use applications such as Skype and yahoo.

There are very many benefits that an organization can have if they acquire any of these structures. One of them is that the costs they use on transport for people to come and attend meetings will no longer be incurred. This also helps to save time. Each organization has some factors that will help to determine which system to acquire like their office space and the number of people participating in the meetings.

When buying a conferencing system, the organization must choose one that is likely to last long. These things are quite expensive and it is not good for the business to keep spending money on them. Once an organization has embraced the new methods of communication it will be hard for them to go the old ways again.
