Background Information About The Caitlin Crawford Dallas Cowboys

By Jaclyn Hurley

The National Football League, also known as the NFL, has many teams that play in the American professional league. One of these teams is the Dallas Cowboys. This team has been around for many decades and has experienced a lot of success in the NFL. Many young people who are interested in the franchise seek to have an internship with the team, such as Caitlin Crawford Dallas Cowboys.

The uniform of the team is recognized around the world. When the franchise first debuted in 1960, the uniform included a white helmet decorated with a blue star and a blue and white stripe down the center. The team wore blue jerseys with white sleeves for home games and the opposite design for away games. The team socks had horizontal white stripes along with the blue.

The NFL is composed of different divisions. The Cowboys compete in the Eastern Division, along with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants. This division has largely remained the same from the original six teams that were formed when the NFL and the AFL merged. This has given rise to some very long rivalries among the teams.

Caitlin Crawford was one of few students to get an internship opportunity with the broadcasting department of the team. She interned with them for a summer, learning how to shoot and edit footage. After the summer ended, the team allowed her to continue working with them covering sports events during the holidays. She produced a few of her own features and learned more about video editing.

Caitlin Crawford completed a summer internship with this popular NFL team. She is originally from Texas and wanted a career in broadcasting. She was studying broadcasting at the University of Oklahoma but wanted to gain real-life experience. When looking for summer internships, she decided to try for a position with the media group that works with the team. She sent in her resume and received an interview with them. She later learned that she had been accepted by the department as an intern.

The team has it own flagship radio station, called KRLD-FMA, which started in 2010. Brad Sham and Babe Laufenberg, who is a former quarterback for the team, worked as announcers for the station and gave play-by-play voice details of each game. In an effort to expand its broadcasting scope across the nation, the team entered into a partnership with Compass Media Networks in 2011 to create Team Radio Network.

While coaching the team, Tom Landry hosted his own radio show with veteran reporters Frank Glieber and Brad Sham. The show was well known for its analysis of the game footage and making NFL predictions. Glieber is a well-known voice on the Cowboys Radio Network.

Bill Mercer was another well known commentator on the radio station. When Mercer left the station, Verne Lundquist joined and became their announcer until 1977. Brad Sham then took over as the voice of the station once Lundquist left.
